EMEA - Empowering Mathematics Education for All Erasmus+ project, with no. 2024-1-LV01-KA220-SCH-000247243 continues with the preparations for the next stages.
The first day of the Transnational Project Meeting started in Bremen, Germany, hosted by GedonSoft. The Latvian coordinator, Evija Kaša, presented the overview of the project progress so far, with some organisational information.
Then the partners discussed about the finalisation of WP 2 - the E-Guide, both in English and all the partner languages. The following step is the planning of WP 3 - the E-learning course. The partners established the structure of the Moodle platform, the modules distribution, and the creation of supporting materials.
The TPM continued with partners being presented the interim report, the dissemination plan for the second year of the project, and the administrative details to be settled. The discussions included the steps to be taken on the to-do list, the deadlines for the future activities and other clarifications required for the next products of the project.
The meeting ended with the certificates and the promise of finding new ideas for the future and of working together as a well-formed team.
The first LTT in EMEA Erasmus+ project has started in Kocaeli. The introduction was made by Serap Riepe from Kreatif Düşünce Derneği / Creative Thinking Association (CTA), Turkey, who welcomed the partners and presented the agenda of the LTT.
Then, the experts from Anadolu University, partners of the host organization CTA, presented what differentiated instruction is. The afternoon sessions were about the Scheme Strategy for pupils with learning disabilities, especially for those who struggle with understanding word problems in Mathematics. The university trainers received their certificates at the end of the presentations.
The second day of the LTT started with a workshop entitled "Hands-on Math!", conducted by Daniela Boneva from DABG. It was an extremely interesting presentation of how teachers can work with students with learning difficulties, especially at primary school level. Then it continued with a presentation of the strategies the Romanian teachers use when dealing with pupils who struggle with math. The presentation was divided in two parts, primary school and 5th graders, and it was prepared by the LTGM team.
The last day of the LTT in the Erasmus+ project EMEA started with the presentations of the Latvian team. The partners found out about the Development Centre in Rezekne Elementary School, and the new method, Barboleta, patented by a Latvian professor, which is of great help in working with SEN children. Then we had a very interesting presentation of the Methodology of Nature Environment Aesthetics, largely used in special education in Latvia.
The day ended with the certificate ceremony, and with a coordinators meeting to establish the next steps to be taken in the project. We would like to thank the host, Serap Riepe from Kreatif Düşünce Derneği / Creative Thinking Association (CTA), Turkey, for being a perfect host and for organizing a successful LTT!
